There is power in the collaboration of seniors!
Residents at Silvera’s Grace Gardens building in Calgary’s southwest Beltline neighbourhood have worked together to successfully petition the City of Calgary to maintain vehicle access to the building despite the establishment of a new bike lane along 15 Ave SW.
Last fall, residents started a petition about the bike lane cutting off their accessibility to services. They were concerned about the possible shift of the building’s loading zone 50 metres away from the entrance.
According to officially released project plans, it is set to be the only loading zone intruding throughout the new bike lane’s full course.
